New Name for the Blog??

Since I am no longer in the "Burgh," a number of people have asked about changing the name of the blog. I have thought I'd just leave it as it is. However, if you have a decent suggestion for a new name, please comment. In fact, I'll take suggestions for the next seven days. If I choose to use one of your suggestions, I will send you - the winner - a personal mix CD of some of my favorite tunes.

Peter, Oooh that one has possibilities. I was afraid you were going to suggest "The Fart at the Fort"

I was going to offer a suggestion, something corny like "The Fort In The Storm" ... but, at this point I'm convinced that "The Fart At The Fort" is the best possible name. I vote for that. (You're going to regret that comment! ;P ) Besides, if you ever used "The Fort In The Storm," everyone would just substitute the other word for "Fort" all the time!

I was thinking...

"Great Scott!" (too self-aggrandizing, and probably already taken)

"Cross and Culture" (it's what you blog about, but not an exciting title)

Whatever you do, please avoid the words, "ramblings", "ponderings" and "musings". They're SO played-out in blogdom.

I guess my suggestion would simply be to call it, "The Burr". I think I like that the best.

Or, "One Stiegy Burr". Or, "The Burr Fer Sher". "The Burr that don't Bore". "You can take the Burr out of the Burgh, but you can never...." aw... forget it.

NO, NO, NO! It's hard enough accepting that you left the Burgh. Don't take it out of your name, too!

Concordia Discourse, or has that been taken already?

Maybe something a little less place specific, although "Burr in the Burgh" is quite catchy. "Burr of the Cloth" or "Burr in the Cloth"
might work- a bit of a play on the slang for a Pastor and the quote from Katherine Luther. Otherwise, maybe looking for a favorite hymn or passage might help. My small addition to this quest.

If you want to retain the spirit of the name you might want to just go with "The Burr from the Burgh". :)

I think "Burr under the Saddle" has a ring. Or "Ein Feste Burr".

Since a "burg" is a still a "fort", I vote to keep the title as is. Well, there's that and the fact that some us us fear change...

I'd leave well enough alone. There is great advantage in "branding" and "name recognition" plus the indexing on Google, etc. etc. This is definitely a case of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" FWIW.

I'd leave it be. Name recognition, branding, Google, etc. It works well, I wouldn't change it. FWIW.
