Lutheran Blogger Conference

This is a notice to all the Lutheran bloggers out there. What would you think about us scheduling a get-together? Many of us already know each other, but this would still be a great chance to meet and greet.

Here's the idea. The annual theological symposia at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne is already a big event. Many of us go there every year. Ft. Wayne is also relatively centrally located. The symposia begins Tuesday morning. How about we have a mini-conference on Monday? We could get a couple of us to speak on blog-related topics. I already have some interesting ideas in that regard. I can contact the seminary to see about getting space, etc. But first, I want to know what sort of interest is out there. So, leave a comment if this is something you'd attend. And contact other Lutheran bloggers who might not see this message and have them come and give their input too.

Cubicle, I know. I'm so sorry. Really. Please don't take it personally. We Lutherans love Presbyterians, Baptists, Roman Catholics and such. But we also feel like our own church is struggling to hang on to its identity, so we do tend to rally together.

I know our churches have much in common and I rejoice for that. And it is true that sometimes we let petty minor differences become unnecessary roadblocks. But it is also true, I think, that the doctrinal distinctives of churches deserve careful and prayerful attention.

I'd be up for it.

Hey, Cubical wouldn't be the first non-LCMS clergy to be at the Symposium! My gosh, we even have 'em be presenters. Pull up the ctsfw.edu web page, sign on up and come on in to Fort Wayne in January. You will hear solid biblical theology. It also happens to be Lutheran.

Lol, it's good to feel loved. I have to say, I've enjoyed getting to meet all the Lutherans I have. Awesome men and women of God with a taste for Liturgy. You've taught me a lot.

I'd be up for it. I was planning to go to symposia anyway. But I'd have to find a way of getting out of classes a day early...
