Junk Movies and Lost Profits

Does it seem probable to anyone but me that there is a connection between these two headlines?

Seeing how poorly Brokeback Mountain did last weekend, I was sure that would cement it's chance at getting an Oscar. After all, more gay films is exactly what the homophobic stupid Christians in this country need to straighten them out. Just another example of hollywood pushing the boundries towards a better, more understanding world. Or something like that.

I was glad to see that it did so poorly. Beaten out by Kong and Narnia.

I'm amused by the fact that "Brokeback Mountain" was beaten by "Narnia," a Christian fairy tale... and by King Kong, which many among the PC crowd have deemed racist. Maybe eventually, Hollywood will figure out that PC movies aren't where our interests are... and that we don't want to spend our money on them.

Actually, Brokeback Mountain still hasn't been fully released yet. It's showing in less than 1/7 as many theaters as those other two films. It is scheduled for wide release this weekend.
And it's not what the homophobic stupid Christians in this country need, because homophobic stupid Christians are too far gone to be saved.

Anon,
You call me homophobic and stupid. But at least I sign my name when I write a letter or comment. What kind of a person writes an insulting note like that and does it anonymously??
