It's been a while since I've had a new poll. Please scroll down. It's on the right. The question is "What is Your Favorite Anthony Hopkins Performance in a Film?" Please vote and then comment here on why you made the choice you did.
I voted for "The Elephant Man." But I could just as easily have chosen a half dozen others. What do you think?

I voted but was disappointed that
you omitted, "Shadowlands," in which he played C.S. Lewis.
I chose Titus for him going nuts while doing Shakespeare? Poetry. To be honest, I have always felt his performance as Psycho was grossly over-rated. It is so obvious and aparent. While Williams in 1 Hour Photo was so much more understated. He looked like every man.
Carl, good point. I think I will even add Shadowlands. I just couldn't add everything and I simply forgot about that one.
Cubicle,
I agree completeley! I too have not been thrilled with Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter. But I thought Robin Williams in 1 Hour Photo was scaaaarrryy.
To this day that movie makes me soooo uneasy. It isn't so much what he does or how he acts, but he is so ordinary and unremarkable. He IS the guy at the store who you don't really know.
Dave
I'm glad to see the absence of Shadowlands was mentioned in the comments... I scrolled up and down the list two or three times, looking for it. Have you seen Shadowlands, Pastor Scott? It's an outstanding film, and Hopkins is great in it.
Robin Williams in One Hour Photo was extremely scary and heartbreaking... a tough combo to pull off.
Darrell,
Yes, I too enjoyed Hopkins in Shadowlands. I'll add it to the survey. Just a silly oversight on my part.
Hey it is no big deal that you left it out, no one voted for it yet.
My problem with Shadowlands is it felt incomplete. He came back to faith (if I'm remembering correctly) a time after her death.
What were the final results?
